SADIE + GAVIN
Visiting the Bay Area
We've made our home in the East Bay because of the amazing mix of great food and culture, access to redwood hiking and bayshore walks, and near perfect temperatures year round. If you're flying, OAK and SFO airports are nearby and have plenty of car rental options and connections to BART.

Where to Stay
We have reserved blocks of rooms at the two Berkeley hotels below, and services like AirBnB and VRBO also offer lots of options in the area. We recommend staying in Berkeley or close by as there is extremely constrained parking at the venue. We strongly encourage using Uber/Lyft, taxi, or carpool to the venue.
The Graduate Berkeley is located near downtown and UC Berkeley in a walkable and BARTable area close to restaurants, bars, and amenities. This is a great choice if you like a boutique hotel vibe and want to be able to get around easily without a car.
The DoubleTree at the Berkeley Marina is located on the San Francisco Bay just a short drive to many Berkeley and Bay Area shopping districts and interest points. If you're planning to have a car, or want to be a bit removed from the city center, yet close to the venue, this is a great option for you.
What to do in the East Bay
While there are infinite things to do, see, and eat in the Bay Area, here are some of our faves close by.
Great Hikes in Berkeley and Oakland:
-
Inspiration Point in Tilden Regional Park is a mostly flat and paved trail with beautiful views.
-
If you're staying in downtown Berkeley or nearby, head to the Berkeley fire trails behind the Cal campus for steep slopes and beautiful views of campus and the Bay.

Local Spots for strolling/ shopping/ dining:
-
4th Street in Berkeley is a great place to grab a coffee or spend a couple hours shopping and people watching. If you want to go on a walk, head to Aquatic Park nearby and take the pedestrian bridge over to the Berkeley Marina.
-
Oakland's Temescal Neighborhood is centered around Telegraph Ave and home to tons of delicious restaurants, bars and breweries, and the very adorable Temescal Alley.
-
Solano Ave in Albany has lots of restaurants and shops, including one of our favorite spice shops, Oaktown Spice Shop, and is close to the Ohlone Greenway, a wonderful multi-use path and park under the BART tracks.
